I lead the University's partnerships portfolio in various sectors, working with a team across various institutes and departments, bringing in invaluable partnerships with industry, innovation groups and R&D teams across the globe. I also work with local, provincial and federal governments, trade commissions, and foreign governments in various aspects of policy, expansion, and translating projects into real world outcomes. Sectors I oversee are primarily in health, life sciences, agro, veterinary medicine, and space and defence technologies.

Lead, Translational Research Science, Management and Collaborations
University of British Columbia | Vancouver Coastal Health System | Vancouver, Canada
I managed multinational cross platform projects, budgets and operations involving industry and academic partners in engineering, photonics, vascular science, urodynamics and bench-top research - from Vancouver to Texas and California to Switzerland and the Netherlands. I also help manage the first ever Spinal Cord Injury Biobank that we have setup. Being involved in translational research in Canada is helping me learn more about different healthcare regulations, international research and much more.

Center for Neuroregeneration at the Houston Methodist Hospital | Houston, Texas, USA
I established the Center for Neuroregeneration at Houston Methodist where we rapidly grew to a multi faceted bench and translational research group of scientists, professors and clinicians. I set-up space, safety, recruitment, budgets and standard operating procedures. I established over 20 global collaborations and multiple projects, initiated technology transfer protocols, academic collaborations, industry contracts. Methodologies and procedures I developed are used as an institutional benchmark till date.

To further expand my knowledge in the life science startup industry, I started working with Empiri Inc. This is helping me explore ways to translate scientific research to an entrepreneurial capacity and explore various models of bench to bedside platforms. I work with the Founder and CEO of the company in market analysis, risk assessment, business development and ideas to take the company forward.

Scientific Research and Projects Manager
Cancer Center for Excellence at the Houston Methodist Hospital | Houston, Texas, USA
At the Houston Methodist Cancer Center, I worked in cancer research, patient derived tumor [PDX] models. We developed novel strategies for therapeutic measures against triple negative breast cancer models. I also managed the laboratory, drafted standard operating procedures, designed experiments and grants, safety, compliance and regulatory affairs. I also trained and had oversight over other junior laboratory personnel.

Scientific Research and Projects Manager
Center for Genomic Medicine at the Houston Methodist Hospital | Houston, Texas, USA
At the Houston Methodist Center for Genomic Medicine, I assisted with budgeting, laboratory function, drafting protocols. I also performed various scientific experiments on multiple projects against neurodegenerative diseases. Animal research protocols that I established for the center are used till date.

USDA Department of Pediatrics at the Baylor College of Medicine | Houston, Texas, USA
I started working at the BCM Pediatrics USDA unit right after graduation. I worked in budget management, ordering, compliance and regulation. I also created an inventory management system to reduce costs, usage and waste. Doing this amongst other developmental plans increased data output by 30% while lowering costs by 15%.
